Archive.org's MISSING timeslots and potential complicity in scrubbing the 9/11 news archive

This stems from the '420GB archive.org 9/11 news archive leak' fiasco from a couple weeks ago.

There are numerous timeslots and odd bits of time missing from the controversial 'Archive 9/11 Collection', and they appear to be important times. On the surface it's interesting to note that the (overseas, furthest from the event) BBC footage is the only one that is virtually complete, while the FOX News footage is clearly missing the most segments.

I initially found the missing times lists not too long ater the list was pulled from archive.org while comparing the lists between what the first 42GB torrent and what I had to construct the 2nd torrent.

After a couple days I posted the missing list in a new thread in the archive.org forums. No response till this day.

Next I posted the list at the place that seemed to be the source of the computer generated download link list to see if there was an error in the printout, but that didn't shed much light on things.

Then I posted the list in the main archive.org thread related to the 911 tapes controversy (scroll down), and the archive spokespeople have failed to respond to any of the missing times requests that have followed.

Why is the following video segment missing from your archives?

Why does the "next video" link on the 10:36 AM - 11:17 AM segment skip over the 11:17 AM - 11:59 AM segment and go directly to the 11:59 AM - 12:41 PM segment?

This piece of NBC footage contains one of the biggest smoking guns of all from 9/11; a video of NBC reporter Pat Dawson reporting on bombs being planted in the World Trade Center as told to him by the Chief of Safety of the New York City Fire Department Albert Turi.

And further inconsistencies:

Why is there no BBC footage covering the period 08:34-9:16? as there is for the other broadcasters? This is particularly odd given that there *is* footage for the NEXT period back 07:52-08:34. See link:

So why the gap? It can't be that nobody STARTED recording, as there's just a gap in the files (i.e a missing feed for 08:34-09:16), and it's the most important one of the day as it covers the attacks around 9am.

What's worse is that (the now infamous) BBC NY reporter Jane Standley is heard in the next feed at the beginning of the 09:16-09:57 file (albeit audio only, your MPEG4 64K, MPEG4 256K, and your Flash file (seeingly generated last autumn) don't display the video, just audio). How has that not been spotted before now? Didn't anyone test them when they were generated last year? Or has someone hacked these and doctored the dates/times (foil hat notion).

Jane is cut out. We only hear the end of her piece at the start of the next clip. She was presumably either on the phone or talking to camera in the 0835-0915 session (it sounds like phone)? You can hear her here:

Wow massive props :y: really great work here! I had a feeling they removed a few segments and I have a feeling i saw some things on BBC news that day that I simply havent found yet at archive.org. A WATS is in order here me thinks. It wouldn't surprise me one little bit if the clips i were looking for are within these missing segments. The gits.

I find your threads to be the most thoughtful here. Maybe to much for the average person to find much meaning in, but I sure appreciate your dedication in uncovering the little details that get overlooked so offen. Interesting how many different stations edited there archives isn't it. Did thay all work together to suppress some views or evidence?

Well in this case it was whichever archiving firm recorded the 'tapes' of live news from that day, and then how they were handled afterwards. These archives didnt come directly from the news outfits, as evidenced by the BBC claiming they lost the tapes that showed the WTC7 'prophecy', which unfolded from these tapes being 'leaked' (sorta leaked).

In that main Archive.org forums post the rep. lets on something about how they were supposed to be up on the Archives from the beginning after 911, but then the was a "server move" or something to that effect, and the archive was just finally (after 5 years almost exactly) 'put back up'.

In any case, the tapes werent from the news sources, so the missing time slots or the odd overlapping times in a few places (meaning 2 vcr's/whatever-they-used would have been taping the same channel at the same time) are the work of the archivists or whoever has handled the files since they were put into computer format. Curiously enough, the Archive.org people stopped responding to the forums questionings around the time this list and related questions became the issue.

I don't post much as threads like this preempt the things I'm thinking of posting about.

Anyone any recommendations for software to play these 1Gb MPG files on Windows? Windows Media Player and QuickTime don't want to play it.

I remember what I saw when watching BBC News 24 that morning (5 hours approximately, from around 9AM EST, just after the first plane hit). I remember reports that would appear once then never get repeated, followed up or explained what happened. Unfortunately I stopped watching before the mention of WTC7 on News 24. I really want to see what was live vs. what we're (not) seeing now.

I hate to play devil's advocate here, but couldn't the archive just be sloppy. Hear me out now.

I don't have time to check myself right now, and I've also never checked out that archive so it would take me some time to figure it out.

What I'm saying is, you need a control to decide if there is a cover up. If that archive is missing random segments from almost every day for the past ten years, then maybe the site just isn't perfect.

It's just that even in the event of a conspiracy, for every extra person that's involved, the "truth" becomes that much more difficult to cover up.
Of course, if there is seriously damning evidence on those clips then I suppose it would be necessary.

And of course there is the possibility that the people covering up the clips don't know about the conspiracy at all and just feel it's their patriotic duty to eliminate media slip-ups that will "embolden the terrists." So when a governmental official, or someone posing as one, asks that they remove those clips to support their country, they don't question the request..

In fact, I think that's how the whole thing is covered up. It's not that a lot of people are in on it at all. It's quite the opposite. Many people cover things up because...

Well the tape of it remained in the Archives archive, but the BBC responded that they lost it due to "cockup". Then tape of the same report from their BBC4 (I think 4) channel emerged, but I'm not aware of a response to that.

That particular tape and ensuing controversy that by now doesnt need a recap here could be a mere diversion, assuming the 'coverup' view is at all true. That was a rather interesting ordeal, but it's not exactl;y a smoking gun either: more debatable material. It worked as a tool for people to steampipe in the WTC7 issue once again, but at the same time, in the coverup viewpoint, it could have worked to fool everyone into assuming that the archives were surely complete considering the "BBC7" uproar.

The 9-11 censors have been hard at work. Protecting the 9-11 perps has been their primary task, as the crumbling 9-11 OFFICIAL STORY disintegrates before their eyes. Hundreds of 9-11 hi-rez photos and hundreds of early 9-11 newscasts which we had access to within the past several years, are now 'missing'.

Keep up the pressure folks. Can everyone see the desperation which envigorates the government loyalists and pseudoskeptics infesting our forums?

If you're all interested in the truth behind this then maybe you should listen to this guy. Unless it can be conclusively proven that the 9/11 archive is the only archive to be missing footage we got nothin here.
