I prefer a pay as you go system for just about everything. I have never required the services of the PD or FD, yet I am forced to pay for them. I do not have children, yet I am forced to pay higher and higher property taxes to pay for schools for OTHER peoples children to go to.

I said constant, not necessarily stable. That is, merchants can't arbitrarily change how much your money is worth. The clerk at Wal-Mart isn't going to tell you your dollar is only worth fifty cents while accepting full value from hte next person in line.

But the dollar isn't worth a constant amount. If it were, the money you have in the bank today would have the same buying power next year, which with the way the dollar is falling, you and I both know it won't.

You are aware that illegal immigrants pay taxes and social security just as you do, right? Their SSN# might be fake, but it's still siphoned out of their paychecks. Those few that are paid cash under the table are usually making little enough that they would actually end up receiving money under our tax system.

You are aware that when an illegal uses someone else's SS#, that is considered identity theft right? You know those taxes that are taken out of their paycheck, who do you think is liable for any remaining taxes owed? Thats right, the original SS# holder.

No, I'm referring to the conservative disgust for a civilized society. They would prefer to make a profit off of selling weapons to rival gangs in a deteriorating society than ever try to keep that society from deteriorating.

When you say civilized society, are you referring to civilized in terms of grown men prancing around the streets in a speedo and bikini top during their gay pride parades? I know how fond liberals are of that type of behavior.

Somehow you missed the point that people cannot arbitrarily assign their own notion of what your money is worth. Your dollar is worth the same as everyone else's dollar, thanks to the taxes you pay into the Treasury Department that manages to back up the worth of that dollar. Even if the ink on that dollar happens to be worth more than the dollar itself.

A civilized society is one that strives to take care of its needful and protect the vulnerable. An uncivilized society is one that abandons its needful and exploits its vulnerable. Given that you advocate denying police protection to those who don't have cash up front to cover it, you very clearly fall among hte latter, as to the majority of conservatives, who's only two goals in life are avoiding paying for anything, and making a profit at the expense of others.

I live in one of the fastest growing areas in the nation, illegals can easily make more than $20 per hour in the construction field. Think thats enough to owe taxes?
