It's always a good idea to know who you're dealing with, so lets discuss our favorite alien species.

My personal favorite are the Anunnaki, ancient astronaut theory always interests me.

The Anunnaki were a group of Sumerian deities who according to Zecharia Sitchin were actually extraterrestrials from a planet called Nibiru. Their planet orbits our solar system in an extremely distorted orbit that takes 3600 years, which at certain points ends up very close to earth. The lifespans are extremely long; lasting several hundred thousand years, and their stature is said to have been twice our own, approximately 12 feet. According to Sitchin and Sumerian texts, they came to our planet and created humans through the genetic manipulation of the DNA from both Homo Erectus and themselves as a slave race.

Our original purpose was for us to mine gold to repair their atmosphere, which I believe was facing a similar problem to ours currently. I don't understand why if they were so advanced and long lived they couldn't do it themselves, but it has been speculated that they possibly don't live their lives in the "fast-lane" and that they may have very slow metabolisms. Many of them ruled over various parts of the ancient world as "Gods" where the were present for many millenia.

Eventually they gave the humans control of Earth when they were finished, then supposedly flooded the planet in an attempt to cover up what they had done as they left. This and many other events from Sumerian mythology parallel events in many other religious texts, including the bible. More and more people are considering the possibility today that maybe we WERE in fact aided into our rise to dominance on this planet through extraterrestrial forces.

And thats the Annunaki in a nutshell.

Yes, those are pretty cool too I guess.

No one in mainstream culture cares about aliens anymore, and it saddens me, because I love alien movies.

Has anyone ever speculated that maybe the Annunaki and their "reptillian" appearance are due to the fact they may be descendants of the dinosaurs, and that Nordics are perfections of the first humans created by the Annunaki who live alongside them?

And if they are not decendants of dinosaurs, then maybe they are a product of evolution that followed the same path as the dinosaurs, except that they were not wiped out by an asteroid impact?

That's interesting because I have thought of that in the past. I've always thought that maybe not all of the dinosaurs were wiped off, and maybe the survivors evolved to the reptilians that we've heard about. It would all make sense because they were the smartest creatures back then, so it only makes sense that they're still far ahead of us today. I know it all sounds silly, but it's not out of the realm of possibility, i suppose.

IMO, there are several, if not dozens of alien species that have visited, or are presently visiting, Earth. Our galaxy has probably several hundred species, and the universe hundreds or thousands more.

A favorite? Hmmm... I like the tall, lanky, genderless benign grays with the extended appendages, three fingers on each hand, skinny neck, large, dark, almond-shaped eyes, no ears, slit mouth, no nose, telepathic. At least I think I do!

Of the others - don't know...

BTW - just curious: How is the mineral Gold supposed to improve/repair the alien's atmosphere?

I'm not sure. I think thats where the lack of sumerian intellect breaks down.

I think I've read somewhere that gold is one of the best elements to reflect harmful rays. If I'm not mistaken, I believe NASA has used gold on several, it may be all, of their space satellites for that very reason.

Isn't discussing alien species like discussing the size and shape of fairy wings? Yeah you can discuss it but it's a bit meaningless, really, again because of lack of evidence and whatnot, but that's never stopped a true believer before.

This is a bit amusing as well:

This and many other events from Sumerian mythology parallel events in many other religious texts, including the bible.

As if the bible has any corroborative authority in the first place? So two texts based on imagination or, at most, greatly exaggerated true events (a river valley flooded, etc), both seem to corroborate each other... so what? They're still fiction, so it says nothing about the real world or actual history. But again, who cares about evidence when deciding on your world view, right?

I'm doing it for fun. I know its like discussing fairy wings, as do most people here. What's the point in coming in here and telling us that? Do you just have nothing else to say? Or do you just want to troll?

I was just comparing the two texts because most other myths and religions from that area of the world are based on Sumerian myths and texts, and if the Annunaki actually did intereact with the Sumerians, it would explain why that system of beliefs and mythical evens was recorded and retold. You weren't there. No one knows exactly what happened around those times, its fun to guess and imagine. More than likely nothing happened; I am an extremely scientific person and my first guess is that they were just ignorant primitve people, I just enjoy speculating about alternate realities and the such. It makes my normal life working at an oil refinery much more exciting.

My favourite aliens are the ones that Lt. Ripley fought. However, there have been marked differences in their life-cycle which always annoyed me.

When she fought one on the Nostromo, it took a while to gestate and grow to adult height.

However, when Weyland's expedition fought them at the South Pole, their life-cycle was rapidly accelerated. The Face Huggers dropped away almost instantly. The Chest Burster appeared almost instantly, while the adult Warriors grew almost instantly. Perhaps they were a different subspecies of Alien from the ones that Lt. Ripley battled?

All documented and verifiable too, in case you want to check for yourself.

(What a stupid thread)

Dude I want a pet xenomorph trained of course to hid in my closet and greet abducting aliens. It could be like my watchdog. Wonder how the zeticulans would react when they run into good ol' internecivus raptus (murderous thief) also known as Linguafoeda Acheronsis (foul tounged of archeron) Probably not so good. Who knew that the dorks over at wiland yutani had scientifically named the nasty bastards.

I'm no troll, so you can forget about that.

Perhaps if you re-read your first post you will see how one might take you seriously. You articulately recalled the Anunnaki creation myth and then tried to tie it into real world texts in your final paragraph. This technique has been used before by people trying to make real arguments, and I'm sure it will happen again. It's my job as a skeptic to point out the absurdity of discussions like this every once in a while, especially since your first post didn't exactly smell of irony.

Ah. I see. Well I was basically recalling it for anyone who didn't know (I've been registered since 03 but I forgot about this website untill yesterday) and unfortunately for me, pretty much everyone here knows how it goes and I wasn't away of that due to my absence. I was just trying to be informative, my bad though.

I thought this was very interesting about if the dinosaurs had survived. It even has a picture of models made of what they might look like today. Looks alot like peoples description of Reptillians.

My own personal belief is this: Take a look at all the hollywood movies that have come out about aliens (Predator, Alien, ID4, Signs, War of the worlds, close encounters, ect) pretty active imagination right? I tend to think its more then that. I think a lot of those movies are based on fact. Events that have happened or at least species that the goverment is aware of.
