Bob Woolmer Pakistan coach and former England batsman found dead in his hotel room this past weekend, has been strangled say the Jamacian police.

This puts the world cup in a new spotlight , and reraises questions of crickets sometimes shady recent past with regard betting scandals.

Thats cricket

BBC

Bobs own wife suspected he may have been murdered before this second pathologist report , also former disgreced Pakistan captain Rashid Latif suspects it may be linked to betting cartels.

Reuters

Does it have something to do with Pakistans shock early exit from the world cup ? Out In the group stage Pakistan amongst early faves for the world cup are out with defeat to minnows Ireland , fair result or rigged ?

I find this all very interesting and think that a genuine conspiracy is afoot , cricket especially on the sub continent is too murky fo this to be a coincidence.

Thoughts opinions?

Wow

Sarfraz Nawaz former bowler drags up lots of names including current players and the captain of Pakistan inzaman Ul Haq amongst others.

His alleagtions in this article are very thought provoking to say the least , and he goes on to say here.

Indiatimes

Sarfraz dragged everyone in the net: From Pakistan Cricket Board to captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, fellow Pakistani cricketers and even International Cricket Council (ICC) whom he described as the fountainhead of betting mafia.

However, what Sarfraz had to say on Woolmer's death probably overshadowed everything else

Sarfraz openly claimed that captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, along with Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, Mushtaq Ahmed, Mohammad Yousuf and Shoaib Malik were involved in betting.

Sarfraz said, so powerful were the bookmakers that they were actually helping appoint coaches, managers, selectors and even board officials in different countries.

Mind blowing and seriously damaging for cricket if true.

Irish cricket camp left reeling after death of Ulster official in hotel

Thursday, March 22, 2007

By Emily Moulton

Ireland's preparations for tomorrow's crucial ICC Cricket World Cup clash with the West Indies have been overshadowed by the sudden death of one of their officials, Bob Kerr.

The chairman of the North West Cricket Union and former president of the Irish Cricket Union died after suffering a heart attack at his Jamaica hotel room during the early hours of yesterday morning.

It is understood the 68-year-old Ulsterman had been staying at the hotel in Ocho Rios with the Irish team when he was rushed to hospital around 4am.

Mr Kerr, who was a prominent figure in Irish cricket, was in Jamaica supporting the team and even celebrated St Patrick's night with them following their sensational win over Pakistan.

His death has sent shock waves throughout the tight-knit Irish camp and the wider cricketing community who are still recovering from the sudden death of Pakistani coach Bob Woolmer on Sunday.

I know Golddragnet , it seems about as murky as murky can be.

Unfortunately the minutia of the game is very open to corruption ,ie personal performance etc , its a sad state of affairs to be sure.
