Don't worry, lombozo. He's where all little ones go. There where he'll learn to throw that baseball, pick up slimey worms after a rainstorm; you know all that cool stuff that little boys are supposed to do.

This crime is just incomprehensible to me. I spent 15 years working as a therapist/counselor for the state and for non-profits. I had to work with sex offenders and child molesters. Everyone in the field knows that there's no way you can rehab a child molester or a serial rapist/killer. I hated working with them, but had to, because law enforcement would have sent them over for counseling, because they had to. I blame our legal system. First of all, yes, anyone who is a serial molester, rapist or some such, a repeat offender, you can be sure they will do it again. So obviously they shouldn't be released into society. But they ARE and I don't know what the reason is. Ever notice that serial killers, rapists and molesters are often given shorter prison sentences than for far more minor crimes?

Next time you rent a video, read the FBI warning at the beginning. You can incur 10 years of prison or a fine of $250,000. One repeat child molester (and I do mean REPEAT) had gotten only 5 years in prison and that was his second time in prison. What is the reasoning here? Our legal system has become a joke when this kind of thing happens and it happens all too often.

Rasobasi, I almost always agree with you and up until recently I have been very much against the death penalty for the same reason as you; innocent people are killed. But now we have some pretty sophisticated DNA testing techniques and we can correct the statistic of 1 in 10 innocent people being put to death, we can at least improve it. But people like this will just continue on doing their horrendous crimes and will never stop. And you know what? At 52 years of age, I'm tired of paying taxes to support these monsters so they can have TV, A/C, earn a college degree and keep on appealing their cases ad infinitum on top of feeding and housing them. No, they are parasites and contribute absolutely nothing to society except evilness. Especially in cases where they confess to the crime, I agree with Lombozo in this instance; put them on trial right away and then when found guilty, execute them on the spot.

Now, the other problem is the anger of the parents in this situation. How could any sane person contain their immense anger, outrage and pain and still keep their sanity? You simply cannot live with all that inside you, it has to be expressed some way. Normally, I would tell a clilent to take a pillow, have someone hold it and then beat the hell out of the pillow with a plastic baseball bat. It works amazingly well, but for this kind of pain, very little will help to assuage it and the parent may find themselves committing violent acts. That is why I agree with the guy who said string them up (after the trial) upside down and let the PARENTS, friends and other family members beat the living crud out of these 3 idiots until death. That way, the offenders are dead and can't hurt anyone and maybe, just maybe they will rethink what they have done. And the parents, family, etc. will have had a way to vent their anger WHERE IT BELONGS instead of on each other or on society. This is the kind of thing that can break up marriages and families, because the fallout is so severe for everyone and of course everyone feels guilty, as is normal in this case, i.e. why didn't I keep a better watch on him, etc. For this family and their friends, life will NEVER be the same again, how could you ever trust anyone ever again for one thing?

He looks like such a cute, sweet little boy and bright, too. I'm going to print out his picture and put it on my mantel, next to a candle I will light for him. My heart goes out to Christopher and his family.

Ya know, I don't have children and am too old now but I do have a horse that I love beyond all reason, don't ask me why, I just really love him. We have a neighbor who has been causing trouble, coming over drunk and threatening us, etc. I'm pretty much a pacifist and don't believe in violent solutions but I will tell you this: if anyone ever touched one hair on my horse's head, I would take out my shotgun and shoot them, not to kill, but to wound and make him think twice about coming back. And that's just my horse, not a child - I can't even begin to imagine the horrible nightmare that this family will have to live with the rest of their lives. I don't believe anyone ever really heals from such a thing.

And then there's the story of the Amish, who after their children were murdered in the schoolhouse, all went together, parents included to call on the widow of the murderer, offering forgiveness and telling them they have no ill will and that they feel sorry for the widow and her kids. I don't know that I ever could reach that point, these Amish parents were heroes who truly practice what they preach.
