Well, in the Bble it says that the second coming will come when no one is expecting it. I forgot the exact book and verse but it syas something along the lines of being like a servant and keeping watch for no one knows the days nor the hour.

Yeah, it talks about the angels in heaven not even knowing when he will come back. So, to answer your question, akumma. Nobody knows.

you could think of it in that way i guess... but if u take it out of definition (An unexpected, artificial, or improbable character, device, or event introduced suddenly in a work of fiction or drama to resolve a situation or untangle a plot.) it is more relevant to the point i'm trying to make

But he was born a Palestinian. Not a Jew. Oh, and by the way, God did not choose the Jewish people as the "chosen ones" or the "sons and daughters of God" we are all "sons and daughters of God". The Church just wants us to believe that the Jews are the "chosen ones" just because they have gone through mass persecution does not mean they are the chosen ones. I can give you many instance of all religions were they have gone through troubles.

I myself have not ever *read*..I mean READ the bible until very recently. And you will certainly know whether you are reading and feeling the word of God through the bible!

Jesus will be coming AFTER the antiChrist. He(Jesus) will be very angry with His people. He states in the bible that He will come in darkness, angry with those of us who sing and praise Him, angry with those of us sacrifice burnt offerings to Him..etc..We should FEAR the time when Jesus returns, for (I believe) the coming of Christ our Lord will be a very fearful time for His people..not at all like I *used* to believe and (think that He would come down from the skies(heavens) beautiful, peaceful with angels and trumpets)

I found the above and MUCH more written in Amos, chapter 5 and beyond.

surely u mean that in a metaphorical type of way, right?

i mean not like a supernatural coming out from the skies or whever it is he comes out from...cause that would be pretty childish

Christianity evolved from their religion.

Evolve?

Christianity did not EVOLVE!

The Old Testament is a prefiguration of Jesus Christ ,The Saviour for all humanity.....He is God come in the flesh for the world...
Christianity did not evolve from the Jewish religion!
The Saviour was foretold from the beginning......."Behold, a Virgin in womb shalt conceive and She shalt give birth a Son, and they will call Him the name Emmanuel, in interpretation: God is with us [S nami Bog / Meth' hemon ho Theos / Nobiscum Deus]" (Mt 1:23).

Jesus Christ came to save the world!
When He does come around the SECOND TIME, He will come to Judge the living and the dead!

quote/
The Lord described His Second Coming as being sudden and obvious to all: "For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west; so also will the coming of the Son of Man be." Prior to this, the "sign of the Son of Man will appear in Heaven," and having seen it, "all the peoples of the world will mourn" (Mt. 24:30).

According to the Fathers of the Church, this will be the sign of the saving Cross of our Lord.

The Lord will descend in all His glory surrounded by innumerable angels: "Then they will see the Son of Man, coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory, and all His angels with Him
Then He will sit on the throne of His glory" (Mt. 24:30, 25:31, Mk. 13:26).
From these words we should conclude that the Second Coming of Christ will look substantially different from the first one, during which He willingly humbled Himself and came in the semblance of an ordinary man.
Then He lived in poverty and voluntarily suffered all kinds of humiliations. His Second Coming will also differ in purpose.

First He came to give His soul for the salvation of many; then He will come to judge the world and recompense everyone according to his deeds. (Acts 17:31; Mt. 24:27).

Hi Majestica...
Merry Christmas!

I read your answer only after I posted mine!

I agree with you on Jesus Christ coming ONLY after the Antichrist has alluded many people and made himself king of the world!

People not knowing the Bible and what it has to say seem to jump to all sorts of conclusions ....I myself did do this in the past thinking that I knew alot more then what the early fathers wrote about the second coming and the appearance of the antichrist...

Today, I rely very much on what the early Ancient Church has written down for all to know and learn.....it is there for our benefit and not so that we make ourselves think we know it all above everyone else!

Christ came as a humble man to show us how we should live and be in this world.....He was crucified so that we may be saved through His Resurrection ...He left us with words that we should LOVE one another no matter what !

The antichrist will destroy all that is LOVE .......He will want worship all to himself and when we shall not heed his words, he shall try to destroy all the little goodness we have left......he will make our life very hard to live and then he will pretend to come to our aid.....only because he will assume that we shall listen to his blasphemous words to worship him as God.......we can only pray that we do not see him!

Majestica, it is good to read the bible, I dont do it as often as I should, but when we read it, we must read with care and only because we want to, not because we are curious and want to prove something!

Today trying to prove anything to anyone else seems like a hard task....and many times it just seems futile to prove something which only you yourself knows as the truth!
And many times it just seems to weaken our own mind when we listen to many other people of what they seem to consider and believe as the truth!

I guess all that can be done is to show people that you truly care ...not only with words, but with WORKS ...

The Bible is not a book, but life; because its words are spiritual life (John 6:63).
Here the words of the Savior apply: Whoever, is willing to do it will understand that this teaching is from God (John 7:17).

Sorry Majestica.seems that I forgot what you wrote above, so I'll post this, and get back to read what you wrote!

Ok, I guess many will probably think they are worthy of blessedness and because they thought too highly of themselves, they considered they they would be chosen to be with Christ..... and these words come to mind....
quote//
"Many will say to Me in that day: Lord, Lord, did we not prophecy in your name? And then I shall declare to them: 'I never knew you; depart from me, you doers of iniquity." (Mt 7.22-23)

Many think that all one has to do is to ''BELEIVE'' in Christ and that is all!
I can tell you that it is much more then to just 'beleive' and think ourselves Christians!

It will be a fearful time because Prophecy also tells us that many who will not submit to the worldly antichrist will be prosecuted and hunted down .....tortured like never in history before.
But if we truly beleive in God ,then we have no fear of the antichrist and his followers.
It sounds unbeleivable to many, but time will tell.
Take care Majestica, and merry Christmas to your little girl!

hhmmm....one thing i always wondered, if got is the mighty creator of well everything then why would he bother so much with the human race? since we just put such disgrace on the purity of life...i mean if there even was a god and then why would he waist he time sending christ to judge us when we are able to prosecute ourselves, we will all most likely die in the end anyways, us humans are just one species, a type of lifeform that comes and goes...
