Does anybody have world charts for prevailing winds or where I can find one? I can't find any... every time I search it, it gives me a chart for a specific place (Australia pops up a lot).

Can someone please help with this little problem.

maybe with the word: prevailing, the search goes looking for only 'local' wind patterns.

i typed in 'global trade winds' and got the info on the layers of wind patterns, & the 3 directions the winds blow in each hemisphere...
you can probaly find more sophisticated graps on other sites,

but here's two sites that address the 'general circulation' of the atmosphere
and a little about cells

ww.2010.atmos.uiuc.edu...(GH)/wwhlpr/hurricane_globalwinds.rxml

earthguide.uscd.edu...

It seems neither links can take you to the sites...

i'd suggest you type in >"global trade winds"< on a Google Search

the first 5 0r 6 sites on the list will have these two addrsses, click them on the search page & you'll see globes with the wind arrows indicating direction...

Thanks for the info... I checked it out, but its not what I'm looking for.

I've got some charts from January and july, 1942 (an old meteorology book) . I can't find recent, accurate charts... I even added some dates, and nothing... no charts, just bs.

If you find any, please tell me. Thanks for trying though.

Prevailing wind patterns should be exactly the same today as they were in 1942.

There's a basic map here:

people.hofstra.edu...

and a slightly more detailed map for January patterns can be found here:

www.bigelow.org...
