I don't know if "bankruptcy" is a strong enough word to describe either the moral or fiscal condition of our government. The following info is from the CIA World Fact Book updated in February, 07. It's pretty scary what the Bush's have done to the USA. Read my lips! We are 860 times poorer than Kenya or Guatemala!

Also...economies are based on more things other than debt. To say the US is the poorest nation doesn't make sense at all. We do have the highest amount of debt, but we don't have the highest percentage of GDP of debt. Plus...our assets far exceed our debt.

Ok, even a cursory glance at official statistics shows the figures to be wrong (CIA for ya!). The UK's current account balance is £9.4 billion. You also, I don't think, understand what it means. It isn't what the nation has in the bank, but rather the measure between inward and outward transactions, plus there are other economic indicators to consider alongside this.

The numbers are ment to make it easier then saying, "I would like a Super Jumbo Wumbo Burger Meal" it also makes it easier for the person taking the order. If they say a 2 then the person taking the order knows its a meal. Another made up statistic... more then 3% of Americans read books.

Determining literacy rate in China is extremely difficult. Mainly because it's difficult to say "what is literate" due to the many dialects and many many double meanings.

To say China has a literacy rate goes against their own official declaration of 85%...but furthermore, ignores the fact that China itself doesn't really know how literate people are because people who may misunderstand certain characters may understand other characters that may or may not convey a similar message.
