Take a look here www.telegraph.co.uk.../news/2007/03/05/ntax05.xml

A household receiving £28,000 a year in disposable income pays 47.9 per cent of that in tax, while earners in the top income bracket pay 46.9 per cent.

How many of you still want socialism in the USA?

Ya know, what I find interesting is that those running for fake president have made no response to this thread.

They are scared!

Pay your taxes folks because there are people that won't get up off their arses and work.

I would'nt say anyone is scared, rather that many of the candidates do
not have enough time devoted to looking at every forum to see this to
respond to, and many most likely never look at this section.

As for me, I actually was going to reply to this alot earlier, but got
loaded with two different projects to do, and forgot about it.

As for the topic, the tax systme there is probably not the best system
ever devised, but people don't seem to have a big problem with it.

Personally, as a socialist I believe in a tax system that goes by annual
income, that is if you make say only $5,000 a year or less, you don't
pay income tax, but if you make $5,000,000 a year, you have to pay
95% income tax, which if I did my math right would still leave you
with over $200,000 to spend.

So the beast shows it's head.
Why work hard? Why work hard to keep the economy good just for someone to take it away?

What about someone who makes 50,000.00/year? You see I'm not concerned with the rich but the middle income citizens. The rich will still be rich,

Well, if you were doing a job you enjoyed, because you want to, and
of course to both better yourself and humanity as a whole.

Of course as it is now, most people are in jobs just to make money,
and not because they enjoy it.

If someone made $50,000 or close to it, there income tax would be
25%, anything between $50,000 and $100,000 would be 40%.

BTW Mr. President wannabe. 5,000,000 X5% is 250,000. As president you need to be able to do simple math.

People usually are doing to job they like.

This "Well, if you were doing a job you enjoyed, because you want to, and
of course to both better yourself and humanity as a whole." is how it may start out but then the government " that you" will put people in jobs that benefit the government, making people very unhappy.

What are you going to do with the 4.3/4 million you tax " rob" from the person that worked for the 5 million?????

I said over $200,000 did I not?

That I doubt, I mean teachers at Elelmentary, Middle and High Schools,
most of them probably are, but you don't generally qwork in an office
from 9to5 because you enjoy your job, it's to make money.

Hell, last year, there was a group of HS seniors, and when they were
asked what the main reason will be when choosing there job, most of
them said moeny.
I was one of the few who said chose the other option.

I think you've misunderstood me, the government has no place deciding
what job you do, giving you the training to do the job you really want to
do, yes, but not mandatorily placing you in a job.

It would go into helping fund the various social programs, like healthcare,
and provided basic living, the remaining 20% would than go into other
things, things like NASA, the military and a small amount woulod go into
paying the government workers (like senators, House Reps and the
president), whom in my opinion get far to much money as it is.

Yup. You see the problem with socialism, then. As you raise taxes, the economy suffers. A lot. You pretty much destroy the economy by raising taxes as high as socialism requires.

Completely counterproductive.
