The hiller flying platform, developed in the 1950s, Platform. This was developed in the 1950s, think of the technological advance on this project since then ,Hiller platfrom again. well think of anything we had in the 50s compared to the things we have now

Could these things called humaniods just be people witnessing the military performing test in these things

no they are aliens using some kind of antigravity technology. There are many documented sightings. read the book unconventional flying objects.
