Urban Architecture and Technology Downgrading

A lot of the time we don't notice or even consider this a big issue, but I for one think it is. Skyscrapers to Residential Houses are an everyday life environment that is unpredictably neglected for the work being done, all the time. Why is it that when architects build new buildings don't come to any overall progress to the infrastructure of the city? I believe that this is an important task that needs to be synced with all property owners.

Advertisement Billboards, City Signs:
Have you noticed that when you drive down a city street all the way from the outskirts to downtown, a lot of billboards and city signs are scattered everywhere? These are potential causes to everyday driving violations and accidents. These things are small to big distractions. Undeniably, any driver or pedestrian can read a billboard and be drawn from what really requires attention which could ultimately lead to fatality.

Potential Solution:
All signs should only be placed in specific spots on owners land by city bylaw. Organized throughout the city streets so it isn't everywhere you turn your head on. A lot of signs really do not require a certain size. Really, there should be high, medium and low cost signs. High for billboards (larger ads) to the smallest. With fixed measurements that apply to every business owner. Today, signs are all shapes and sizes.

You could have swore that a street you drove down had been paved to just squeeze you in size. Further stressing the drivers meneuverability capabilitys, vehicle, and peoples property.

A lot of buildings are built so close together that you often ask, "Why can't everything be farther apart, than being so close?!".

Potential Solution

Abolished buildings "lots" should be downsized so it acts according to a "far and wide between property" bylaw.

The city I see, has a lot of issues that need to be dealt with. People should not have to endure the stress that could be resolved.

Most countries have their own National Building Codes as well as City Ordinances to restrict and impose certain rules regarding advertisement and billboard signs, parking areas, and other things pertaining to buildings and/or structures. Remember that the purpose of these codes is to protect public health, safety and general welfare.
Now, if these set of rules are being undervalued by the public and the government authorities; there would be no such thing as Urban Architecture.
Otherwise, it would mean to be Urban Architorture.

My Proposal: (Although a long-standing issue)
The government or its concerned agency should enact higher degree of penalty for violations of the building code.

One thing that will solve alot of problems is if we built buildings Down instead of Up. Why do we need them to go up into the sky, why cant they go underground? Heating and cooling would be easier. The view would suck but who cares. If you want a view go upstairs to the surface.

You have a point there but the problem with underground buildings is; it is not environmentally friendly. In order to preserve the environment, buildings should be designed to utilize natural sources of energy such as light, heat, and wind. This is so called as Green Architecture.

As designers, we should promote sustainable architecture.
