Elderly Man Attacked In Hate Crime Dies

A 72-year-old Detroit man who was attacked Feb. 13 and left paralyzed from the neck down died today in what his family is calling a hate crime.

Andrew Anthos was on a city bus when a man reportedly approached him and asked him if he was gay.
The man continued to harass Anthos, followed him off the bus at the stop in front of his building and then viciously beat Anthos with a metal pipe, striking him from behind.

Anthos was in a comma in the days preceeding his death.

This really only goes to show how screwed up people in this country
can really be.

That anyone would attack someone because they are gay, or really
for any other reason is deplorable, add to that the victim was an
elderly 72 year old gentleman.


Even though the attack itself did happen on the 13th of this month,
he died today while in the hospital in a coma.

What a truly awful thing I know that two wrongs don't make a right but hopefully the perpetrator will be repaid in kind.
