Nessie's English cousin?

It is little more than a dark smudge near the surface of a lake - but it could still signify the birth of a new legend.
For this shadowy image is causing more than a ripple of interest among monster aficionados.
And to the man who took it, the picture is proof that something strange lurks in the waters of Windermere.

I'm a big fan of the giant eel theory when it comes to lake monster. However, in this case it is a picture taken very far away. My first impression on seeing this picture was it is either water fowl or maybe a beaver or otter. I not familar with the fauna in the area, but that is what I see.

I don't know if Windemere is accessibleto the sea but this theory might explain what Nessie is.
