Western experts believed that this was a military laser system. According to the statement of Soviet officials, this was an optronic system for observation of space objects, similar to the American GEODSS.


the facility itself is located near the town of Nurek in Tajikistan, its reentered service in 1999 and now is serving in the space-surveillance division of the 3rd Army,

if anyone have more info about it please post it here, maybe it is somehow related to HAARP
