Tens of thousands of children across the country will be without their lemonade and cola under the voluntary measures.
Wow, that's a lot.

I wonder if they can really enforce it.

News Source

BANGKOK -- Some 600 primary schools across Thailand on Tuesday vowed to ban sugary drinks from the playground and classroom in an effort to curb soaring child obesity rates in the kingdom.

Thai kids now are facing obesity and tooth cavities because they eat fast food," Chantana told Agence France-Presse.

No, they'll have a hard time enforcing and most of them will fall back in the bing, the stuff is too much addicting.

Yes, all the sicknesses of the Western world are now rising with an alarming rate. Diabites was virtually unknown just forty years ago. Like in some Western countries it's now a young peoples disease.

It is really sadning, because their traditional foods are known to prevent diseases in the circulation system as well as diabetes. But coke and snacks are what keeps the medical profession going.

There's no need it be so, but promoting Western livestyle takes it toll.

My wife is Thai and in her fifty years of living she's never seen a dentist or a doctor except when having accidents. Her teeth are a row of white pearls. Needless to say, she don't eat Western food, and have only tasted cola in sips. She never liked it.

BTW, your link doesn't work, seems you forgot the url.
