Does the universe keep itself stable by killing people?

The title may be hard to understand. Let me explain.

I guess if you wanted you could match this with Final Destination, but do you think if your an an accident or a freak accident, but somehow, amazingly turn out alive, that the universe will keep itself in "natural order" by keep finding a way to kill you? And no matter what you do, you can't run from it forever?

I was watching LOST yesterday and got intrested in this and seeing the future. I dont want to spoil it for anyone who watches, but Desmond is a character who can see flashes of the future, and can do something about them. A character was drowning in the ocean, so he ran and saved her. A character named Charlie was going to run out, but the reason Desmond ran out was because if Charlie had, he would've drowned.
He then said He couldnt be there for that all the time and told him he was eventually going to die.

Even though its a fictionious example on a TV show, it sparks an intrest in me.
Does anyone else here think about that?

If not, theres also a quite disturbing theory that you only have a certain number of heartbeats assigned to you at birth.

ive seen both final destination and that episode of Lost and will say that i have thought about it, thats about all i can say in this post.
i would say in my opinion it cud be a possbility,
everything needs to change, if you get that

Well, I do think that there is a very set way that each of us are to die. I don't think that death is just happen stance... I think it is planned in some way by a as yet, undefined mechanism in the universe... Certainly.

If that was the case then physical exercise would be bad for ones health.

No, I don't think that, everyone is doomed anyway, the Universe doesn't have to ensure a thing.

I think it does. About a year ago a teacher told me something that really made me think. People die by accidents, killers, sickness, even unknown phenomena, but the thing is, through all the medicinal cures that people are trying to come up with there is ALWAYS another sickness that people have to learn to cure. I think that one day we actually will be able to cure cancer, and then something else will come along. That's also why floods happen, hurricanes, and tsunamis. People die, and the world turns regularly. If this balance didn't happen than the Earth would become overpopulated, we wouldn't have enough fuel or food for anything to survive and so there has to be balance.

I believe that there is a yen and a yang.

I find it doubtful, considering the number of near misses I've had.

At 6 weeks old, the brakes on my dad's semi goes out while we're going down a snow covered mountain. Many times we nearly slid over the edge while going around a curve.

At 3 months old, the car me and my family were in got hung up on train tracks, due to bad track repairs. Somehow they got it unjammed, and barely off the tracks as the train went by.

At 6 months old I had a piece of rebarb dropped on my head. Had that been an inch higher, it would have went through my skull.

At 2 years I fell out of an Ingles buggy and ended up in a coma for 3 days.

At 4 years old I was given penicillian and went into cardiac arrest.

At 8 years old the car I was in got ran off the road and flipped into a ditch. The roof caved in right where I was sitting. My seatbelt malfunctioning and not staying clasped threw me out of danger.

At 13 years old I lived in a house that had a carbon monoxide reading of 83.3 and rising. The fire chief wouldn't stay in long enough to get a full reading. 35 will knock a person out, 50 will kill a person. Thankfully there was just enough of a draft going through the house to keep it from killing us.


At 15 years I had a heart attack triggered by a heart murmur. (Yay for bad genetics! /sarcasm off.)

At 22 my appendix ruptured and set up sepsis.

A month after that I set up a massive infection, and carried a temp that never dropped below 103.7 and went as high as 104.8

6 months later I had another heart attack.

A year after that I had a third heart attack.

That last attack was 3 years ago. So if the universe is trying to balance things out by killing me, it's doing a horrid job at it.

Everyones familiar with the whole concept of it being somebodies "time" when they die. I think that there is a set time that everyone has to die, and nobody can escape it. Any near misses that may happen to you were suposed to happen.

Can somebody outsmart their "time"? I think the answer is no, it would imbalance the universe. The ying and yang.

So...Uh,..if that is the case then, a near miss for death was not your time, henceforth the Universe did not try to kill you and won't try to kill you because it was not your time, it could not have been your time.

When you are dead, THAT was your time, never any time before that.

1.Viruses do that for sure. By preventing overpopulation they prevent any given species from over consuming its food source to the point where to much irreversible damage is done. Currently they are failing to protect Mother Earth from mankind because of modern science, and we are failing to protect the earth from ourselves because of bad politics (self-serving, and somewhat twisted realities of global politics).
2.Death’s timing is controlled by chance, doesn’t matter if your in the wrong place at the wrong time, if your murdered by someone you should never have met, or if its a heart attack brought on by old age, as a little bit more exercise, or slightly better diet, or less stress would reset the timing of death.
3.Perhaps in a few peoples cases (therefore) there really is a good reason why god-gods want them to die. Maybe it’s because of reincarnation, or some threat-disruption they will cause, or even something else we don’t quite understand. BUT I doubt very much people would be as lucky as they were in the movies.

Summary…
Death Timing is controlled by Chance, Chance by a greater interaction of greater things, god seems to work through chance, certainly many paranormal things do, it’s an easy way for the supernatural to affect our life.
