Protection from a perfect Hunter

The perfect hunter. I'm refering to the Wendigo. Hunts at night and lives in a cave, and it'll eat you alive. From what've heard you have to burn it alive in order to kill it. My friend might no where on is, where its hunting. I'm not saying I'm gonna go after it but for future refference and in case it attacks us or someone we know, how do protect yourself from one. I've heard use some kind of symbols to protect yourself, if so what are those symbols?

P.S. I dont know whether this belongs in the paranormal or cryptozoology section.

Ahhh... so someone thinks they've found a Wendigo...

According to legend, they are humans who became lost in the wilderness and were forced to cannibalize their companions to survive. They became addicted to human flesh and developed 'abilities' and mutations to help them hunt their new prey.

I really don't think the exist, but i'll play devil's advocate here and discuss this as if they do.

There is no way to combat them. It is as simple as that. If they want to kill you they will. I don't think any symbols or words or weapon would stop one if it wanted to eat you.

Moral of the story: Don't go and hunt supernatural beings, whether they exist or not.

i think somebody has been watching a bit to much of that supernatural show

The wendigo is real. It is the perfect hunter. It cannot be stopped by anything in the material world. It is both spirit and beast. Do not hunt it, lest the hunter become the hunted.

What if its the one that picked the fight, is there any way to protect yourself?

I would say that the ¨wendigo¨ (if it at all exists)
is a creature made out of flesh and blood just as
the rest of us. And since its made out of flesh and
blood it should be stoppable by conventional means.

My recommendation to your friend is that he should
go after the beast heavily armed, and he definitly
shouldnt be going alone. Make sure that he carries
some sort of GPS device or other means of tracking
him incase he gets lost or something happens to him
while on the hunt. Also, bring a police radio, cellphones
are pretty much useless in remote areas, but I guess
you already knew that...
