Are Aliens Us?

Could the UFOs that we are seeing be Evolved humans travelling back in time to observe how we lived?

This was something I was thinking about while watching the Carl Sagan series Cosmos.

Let me know if this has already been discussed.

Doesn't anyone have any thoughts on this?

I thought this would be a great topic to discuss.

The idea that future man is so completely wreckless, moronic, stupid beyond belief and astronomically degenerated from us hard to comprehend. Traveling back in in time to observe how we lived is like detonating a nuclear bomb in New York to observe the effects of radiation. Its dangerous for everyone involved.

This assumes a linear timeline however, not dimensional. But then again technically they would not be us if it was a dimensional timeline, they would not be part of our timeline (future or past).
