I'm one to think that stories like Tom Clancy's and others might hold some weight to them. There are always subtle references in some of these
government movies that stick out in my mind.
One I can't remember fully was about an NSA area at Ft. Lee in Virginia, from the movie Sneakers. Redford mentions it off-handedly I think. Only
reason I remember this was my mother and grandmother used to wait for my grandfather, a Col. in the Army, at a particular part of the base because the
driver could not go further. While I would like it to be Ft. Lee and this falls in line, I never see anything about it.
Of course Ft. Lee is pretty mundane from what I gather from a person stationed there back when my grandfather was there. Small world but the bride's
father at a wedding of a college friend of my wife's was stationed there. A Quartermaster’s school/base could look pretty bland to the normal eye
if there were such a site.
So, thus my take on some of these movies.
