Will modern humans ever evolve?

Excuse me! You do know that we are developing tools at a breakneck pace compared to the 19th Century and later on in this century the pace will look phenomenal compared to the 20th Century.

The last significant tool developed was the Electron Microscope(1980 i think) and with that we have been unravelling the mysteries of the Nano and Quantum worlds. The last big materials discovery happened in the 90s, I'm sure you've heard of Carbon Nanotubes and Buckyballs right? Humanity has also developed ways at using lasers and "tweezers" for individual molecules not too long ago(like a few years) and the prospects for that new Tool looks very promising.

Nanotech Engineering is what I'm studying at school and I can say with certainty that it will change the look of this Century as much as the Car, Radio, and Television changed the last one.

According to Ray Kurzweil, we will eveolve after we reach the Singularity, where technological advancement outpaces humans, then we will meld together with our technology.

I think this will happen within 20 years.

I think evolution of humanity will definitely be a result of technology, whether it be through 'hardware' (cyborg-style) or 'software' (genetic alterations). The cause of natural evolution has to do with environmental pressures forcing us to change. It's just a matter of changing or dying. Humans happened to be good at adapting, and so evolved. The tighter control we have over our environment means we'll have less reason to change naturally.

Modern uman got a big problem right now!

I wasnt refering to humans. If you read all of it I was refering to bees. It was a small discussion on the bee traped in sap.

Others have already referred to this, but so long as we don't experience an Apocalyptic event on earth or a cataclysmic event from space, the next phase in human evolution will most likely be a technological driven one.

Why wait eons for natural evolution to occur, when within our lifetimes "parents" will have the cabability to customize their test-tube babies physical traits and cognitive abilities, not to mention the cybernetic upgrades (already in development to aid the impaired- That's how it always starts i.e. Cosmetic-surgery) that could be administered throughout ones lifetime.

I don't think we'll ever truly know what kind of course natural evolution would take humanity towards because once technology melds with humanity (inevitable), all those who'ld rather wait for natural evolution to take it's course will most likely be destroyed or treated like cattle. I also think the Verichip Implant will be to cyborgs what 18th century cameras are to sattelite imagery today.
