How can we dance when i heard u turning
How can we sleep when the beds are burning
How can we dance when i heard u turning

The time has come to say fairs fair...the time has come!

Yep, Midnight Oil....Beds are Burning. It's about the plight of the Maori's in Austrailia/NZ if I remember right...something to that effect...

The lead singer is an exceptionally intelligent guy (saw an interview with him once)....

Does anyone else think the lead singer (Peter Garrett) looked like this Hollywood bit actor Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes, The Crow, Weird Science, etc) ?

Peter Garrett

Michael Beryman

Cool. I have an OCD tick too. Except I hear other songs being ripped off in new songs.

And looking for all "new" actors as walk ons in old episodes of Seinfeld and X-Files. Everyone was on one or both you know.

The gateway shows used to be Soap and Benson.

Is that anything like Parliament in the UK? With the funny hat party getting votes? Or Italy where porn stars get elected? Or California where....

He never got in.

1984 Peter ran unsuccessfully as a Senate candidate for the Nuclear Disarmament Party in the Federal Election.

Geographic and ethnic input to support the motto of this website:

1. The indigenous population of Australia is made up of Australian Aboriginal tribes.

2. The indigenous population of New Zealand may have been the Moriori. Accoring to popular history they were supplanted by the Maori tribes.

There is no comparison between the appearance, histories or cultures of Aboriginals and Maoris, at all.

* Actually, I was trying to support the ATS motto, but if it worked for the BTS motto that is all well and good. *

You can still find Moriori on the Chatham Islands, you know.. When I heard that I was like, damn, I thought the Maori ate them all... (j/k)

Like MA said, Maori have no affiliation with Abo's. They're Polynesian, not Micronesian, not Australian, Polynesian.

My idea of best Maori vocalist, Tiki Tanae of Kaikoura. Known for membership in the bands Supergroove, Salmonella Dub and Concorde Dawn. I love NZ music. It's so incredibly unique. Except for this new wave of polynesian "hip-hop" thats going on with the likes of Che Fu and King Kapisi. Come on guys, be original! Show the world dat kiwi ingenuity.

I know of the differences, just I wasn't sure which one he was advocating....Maoris or Aboriginals...

I have a buddy who does this, but more for people who look like combinations of others....as in "that person looks like _______ and _______ had a love child", hehe...
