I always wonder when I hear these type of stories.....
why the hell the fathers stay with these women and let them raise their children when they can PLAINLY see that the woman is mentally abusing their children??!?

At first I can get it. One hopes that she'll get over it. When it starts to become apparent that "mom" has moved from being depressed to abusing her child as a lifestyle - why the hell do these guys stand by? I DON'T get it.

For the most part there are not simple categories of conditions, some "normal" and some not. Humans come in all types and vary in many ways, and there are far more shades of gray than there are blacks and whites. Drug companies have identified a set of symptoms for which they have drugs, so as a result of their marketing, a certain subset of humans, perhaps somewhat dysfunctional in nature, given current society's demands (which are arbitrary), are said to have a "disease."

If they did not have a drug for it, it would not exist.
