The group estimates that the actual number of Iranian-Americans may top 691,000 -- more than twice the figure of 338,000 cited in the 2000 U.S. census. According to the latest census data available, more than one in four Iranian-Americans holds a master's or doctoral degree, the highest rate among 67 ethnic groups studied
Iranian-Americans are far more numerous in the United States than census data indicate and are among the most highly educated people in the country
Iranian-Americans are also prominent in academia. According to a preliminary list compiled by ISG, there are more than 500 Iranian-American professors teaching and doing research at top-ranked U.S. universities, including MIT, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Carnegie Mellon, the University of California system (Berkeley, UCLA, etc.), Stanford, the University of Southern California, Georgia Tech, University of Wisconsin, University of Michigan, University of Illinois, University of Maryland, California Institute of Technology, Boston University, George Washington University, and hundreds of other universities and colleges throughout the United States.
With their high level of educational attainment and a median family income 20 percent higher than the national average, Iranian-Americans contribute substantially to the U.S. economy. Through surveys of Fortune 500 companies and other major corporations, the researchers identified more than 50 Iranian-Americans in senior leadership positions at companies with more than $200 million in asset value, including General Electric, AT&T, Verizon, Intel, Cisco, Motorola, Oracle, Nortel Networks, Lucent Technologies, and eBay. Fortune magazine ranks Pierre Omidyar, founder and chairman of the board of eBay, the wildly popular online auction company, as the second richest American entrepreneur under age 40.

Not really what I was shooting for in the way of responses.
Will the USA impose another executive order like Executive Order 9066, which was carried out after the attack on Pearl Harbour.
Although this order was rescinded in 1976, and those detained were given some retribution for detainment ( 1980's ), could the current administration implement something along the same lines.
With 600,000+ people to deal with, what kind of outcome could we expect.

Yes I imaging that watching their nation have the same devastation as Iraq will be a great reason for celebrating, also the death of their own people will be just to good to let go.
Incredible.

In the event of war, they will simply round-up all Iranian citizens based in the US and put them into 'camps'.
Okay, maybe a bit far-fetched??? Remember, this is Bush in charge, would YOU put ANYTHING past that NUTTER? OR Mr.Angry? (Cheney)

In my opinion, your an American.
People need to give up their loyalties to their ex-homelands otherwise we will never be a unified country.
Actually because race is an issue when you have to fill out applications and the census, I still have to select, "Hispanic" of "Puerto Rican oring" funny but no even our government will let that die.

Interesting point Marg,
It doesn't make sense to the 'average joe' ( me ) but there is probably an underlying reason for this, which in turn makes some people a lot of money.
Good point

But... being 'white' ( for lack of a better term, don't want to come off as predjudice, but didn't want to use 'all American' as I reside in Canada ).
