Did you ever think back and try to determine exactly what caused your interest in unconventional aircraft?
When I was but a lad there were two distinct events that piqued my curiosity.
1. A friend of the family saw a silent, V shaped craft that defied areodyncamics in the hudson valley. I was a curious young'en and wanted to know what it was. It drove me crazy that there was no proof, no pictures, and worst of all, no explanation. UFOs and aliens were not a priority to this guy, and even after seeing an unexplained aircraft they still aren't.
2. The Bob Lazar special on TV. This was very intriguing to a kid learning about astronomy in elementary school.

Anyhow, I'm currently reading Night Siege by Dr. J. Allen Hynek and it basically contains the standard fair of eyewitness reports for the Hudson Valley sightings.

Does anyone know anything particularly interesting about these sightings?
Did anyone here happen to see those V shaped craft.

It's just that this stuff happened right over my effing head and I didn't get to see it. I feel cheated.

I heard that they were supposed to be ultra lites but according to the eyewitnesses that is a bunch of crap. Also ,didn't these sightings keep happening over a few years?

Hudson Valley NY, right?

I used to live there.

I did see a UFO there too. What I saw was a triangular shaped "thing" with round lights on each corner. I remember it perfectly.

That was about 10 years ago. Some other people I know saw similar things around the same time. Even my brother saw weird objects. He was driving on the highway and a whole bunch of people where pulled over watching it and he saw it too. I'll have to get more info on that from him.

And yes crowpruitt, there where many sightings in that area over the years.

Sunsetspawn, have you read the book "Unsolved UFO Mysteries"?

They have, in a chapter about flying triangles, a section about the Hudson Valley.

It's says in the 80's and 90's many people saw the triangular UFO's around the Hudson River and Hudson Valley. Some of the discriptions match what I saw too. So there may be something to it. It's very interesting.

I'll have to looks at that book, Night Siege.

Thanks for posting that about the Hudson Valley

I just found this site link too, www.ufohelpfiles.com...

On the evening of the UFO sighting, O'Driscoll and her daughter were driving home after dinner, when the teenager spotted lights moving slowly just above the trees. The multi-colored lights, about 50 of them, defined the shape of a massive, dark, triangular craft.

Thats pretty close to what I saw, except for the many colored lights.

And wow, read this too

www.ufocasebook.com...

Theres the V-shaped one you were talking about. A whole bunch of people saw that kind.

This was written in 96'. Around the same time I saw one of them.

In the Hudson Valley area alone, there has been more than 7,000 reports of UFOs over the past seven years.

ufologie.net...

Sighting from a retired policeman - ufos.about.com...

In the 80's starting with that sighting nearly 5,000 sightings where reported between then and 86'. Then even more in the 90's.

This is pretty exciting. Triangular and V-Shaped objects.

That many people can't all be making it up, right?

The Hudson Valley was quite the hot spot for UFO's.

I'm going to keep looking into it and try to find the most recent sightings.

For such a big sighting almost nobody knows about it outside of Westchester and Putnam. And even within lower New York, only people one to three degrees away from an eyewitness account know much about it. The mainstream news is WORTHLESS

I appriciate all of the information you linked to and I will check it out as soon as I have some free time.

A big question that I have concerns the "shrinking" and "growing" of craft. I've heard of this phenomenon before but because I find the Hudson Valley sightings to be so credible now I am very curious about it.
I haven't had enough time to think about it, but I'm essentially thinking that this may be some form of FTL travel.

Could manipulation of extra spatial dimensions cause an outside observer to "see" a craft shrink out of existance, or grow out of nothing.

Of course I could be wrong, crazy, or a moron.

This is a very good possibility,If these "visitors" are as advanced as they are claimed to be I would'nt rule this out.

Back in 86-87 (I think, was a blurry year..thank you JD ) there was a hangout in Jersey City NJ at the waterfront. The Piers or Colgate it was called at times.
Must have been June or July. About 50 people hanging out and doing thier thing. Drinking and relaxing. This huge thing came over our heads. I mean really huge. It was sort of oval shaped and some funky lights.
It went kind of slow but it was very quite. It went overhead towards the statue or Liberty then towards NYC.
One of my friends who was with me was the told the next day by his sister, who was up further north in NY, that she saw the same thing.
We still talk about it to this day.
I think there was a small article in the local paper about it.
I'm just surprised all of NYC did not see it.

I live in Dutchess county NY I have talked to people who seen the triangle crafts back in the 80's. Some of the sightings might have been those a-holes flying the ultralights but not all. Most of the people on my street have said they have seen ufos back in the 80's. They are people that do not talk about it because people will think your nuts. I only got talking to these people because they know I am interested in the subject. One of my friends in high school a few years ago starting telling people at schools guidance office that I was interested in Ufos. A few days later my guidance officer called me down and asked about UFO's. I thought she brought me there to send me to see a mental health doctor. But she told me she saw a glowing disk hover above the neighbors roof 10 years ago. She told me she never he told her family what she saw because they would call her crazy

My brother saw the lights that many others saw on highway 84' in Conneticuit. I talked about it with him and he said he was driving down and he saw about 15 people pulled over. They pulled over too and was watching it.

Has any one ever read the story about the UFO flying over Indian Point nuclear power plant? I think that is in the book I wish they could have got that on video.

I know there are videos and pictures but you can't find them these days.

Here is a small clip of one of the Hudson Valley craft in the 80's

www.pinebushufo.com...

You need quicktime to view the video.

Now that's what I'm talkin' bout. Sure, it could be a fake, a hoax, or whatever, but it's something.
I guess it's because I live here. I've actually heard the accounts of a few people from their mouths. Normally you hear about this stuff on the internets, on TV, or in a book. There's a big difference when the story that you're hearing has no money behind it; an honest acquaintance or friend is worth a thousand "UFO Files, brought to you by Claritin."

I own this video collection. It is the bomb. They are the best ones in my Opinion. I loved this show and I love the way they present the stories.

Be sure to check the other Unsolved Mysteries stories on YOutube.
