The new emerging power on the block!
India’s Armed forces, the fourth largest in the world, represented by contingents in full battle regalia, and ceremonial attire proudly marched
before their supreme commander, President APJ Abdul Kalam, even as fascinating tableaux depicting the diverse culture, and hundreds of
colorfully-dressed dancing schoolchildren formed part of the 105-minute-long parade.
The annual extravaganza was watched by none other than Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was the chief guest at this year’s parade.
And for the first time ever, the 61st Cavalry contingent was led by a foreigner, Malaysian Prince Captain Tunku Ismail Ibrahim.
Here are a few pics of the parade.
