Due to the recent "Anti-Satellite" test by China I thought I would have a look at all their recent space launches. Due to their orbits and heights I have concluded they are spy satellites. The SJ-6C and SJ-6D are of particular interest due to their similar staggered orbits providing almost total coverage of the earths surface. The Chinese media and government have come up with various amsuing uses for these satellites. For example the Fengyun 1-D satellite follows a low earth polar orbit while all the other Fengyun satellites are geostationary. If anybody can explain any mistakes I may have made please feel free!

I don't see what all the fuss is about with China's satellites.
They are a country, they are entitled to do what they want. One day, we will need an international body to govern all of the satellites so they don't collide.
That'll be nice, the US and a few others can dominate that one too.

The US has more satellites in orbit than anyone else. Who knows what the true capabilities are. We have more than our fair share of spy satellites. I think China is entitled to a few of their own.

Now, if they start shooting ours down, or blow up cities with their satellite death rays, that's a different story.

I don't disagree with the Chinese having satellites, I was just showing the media coverup surrounding them and the recent increase in launches. Welcome to the "Second Cold War". (I hope it stays cold anyway!).

I worked it out myself.

i don't really care if they are spying on us from space. so what they can see my house, oh nooo end of the world!!

unless they can launch missiles from their satellites or have some kind of lense on there that can see through my house and catch me naked in the bathtub, i'm perfectly fine with them having satellites

i personally couldn't have said it any better

another thing, just because WE launch satellites into space doesn't mean we're spying on china.

Do we have any type of satellite missle countermeasures? It would seem that it would be pretty simple to mount a laser, or gun, or countermeasure of some sort on a satellite that would be able to shoot down anything shot at it.

It seems like a huge oversight to not think something like this would be a threat. Especially considering the amount of money we put into satellites.

that kinda reminds me of the cold war. The US and Russia each wanted to beat wach other to the moon so we can build a huge missile base pointed directly at the other country. Now people doubt we even got to the moon.

you do have a good point, though. i'm pretty sure we can launch missiles from Earth at satellites and manage to hit them, as for their already launched missiles....ummm hmmmm. no clue. i know on the new and improved US battleships we have these amazing new chain guns that can shoot down missiles headed for the ship, maybe we can do the same for cities. Put them on top of the Empire State building and what not.

your guess is as good as mine.
