The Newest member of my Automotive family

It's a Nissan Versa..Known as the Tilda in Japan , and Austrailia.
The smallest car I have ever owned. Seems pretty roomy though.
35MPG highway.

Traded in a Nissan X-terra, with 100K miles. It was still in pretty good condition.
In doing the math, we discovered that we'll spend about 100 dollars per month less in Gas.

Shocking for me, because we were inches away from Buying a Toyota FJ-Cruiser, 4wd is a requirement for many of my, and my wifes jobs.
Instead, we'll put a camper shell on my truck, and use it for our forays into the desert.

Anyone familar with the Versa, or the Tilda?

Of course, the opinions of others are not nearly as important as your opinion of your car, but this guy gave it a good review.

It should be noted that he said the 2003 Honda Accord is not as fun to drive as the 2002 Honda Accord and having owned both I can tell you that I'm not sure he drove either car, but he has been in the business a long time and people seem to respect his opinion.

I hadn't read that review. Thats another good one.
We read quite a few others that were pretty much in line with that one though.

I don't believe I'll be driving it much, as my better half has put her mark on it. In the form of PURPLE Seat covers, with White BUTTERFLIES. embroidered all over. LOL

Go with the CVT because it makes the most of the engine's power band.

What a crock. CVT's are great for gas mileage as the civic's proved 10 years ago. But for true driving, nothing can match a manual box.

Sounds like a sweet little ride spacedoubt. Let us know how its works out in the long haul.

My first update would be. So far so good. We keep passing gas stations. LOL

Well, It's a couple of months later.
And a couple of thousand miles later.

The little car plowed itself pretty well through two snowstorms.

My wife discovered that she really should have gotten it with cruise control, for some the her long road trips.

We're still happy we made this choice.

I have never been a fan of cruise control. On long trips I will set it for the speed limit, but it usually winds up just assuring that my speed remains at least as fast as the law allows.

I have it in my Truck..And rarely use the Cruise.

But my wife has an issue with the circulation in her right leg.
It's a benefit for her to use it.

Right now the dealer we bought from is researching the cost for a retrofit.
We'll see how that goes.
