On sunday the US asked permission from the Czech Republic, and got it from Czech PM Mirek Topolanek however the Russian's are not happy!

Moscow insists that the installation of US missiles in countries close to its western border would change the strategic balance in Europe.
Lt Gen Vladimir Popovkin, commander of Russia's space forces, said Moscow would interpret the move as a military threat.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Obviously with tensions rising in Iran, the US is keen to get assets in place that could prevent
Iran or other rouge nations launching strikes at US interests.
It seems yet another indication that we are just heading down the road towards a new high-tech cold war.
