Unusual aerial activity today over Perris, Riverside, Ca.

today at around 2:30pm I heard a loud noise over the house, and i ran down stairs to go in the back yard to see what was up and heard the jets but saw nothing, my cousin chose to stay upstairs and looked out his blinds and he said he saw 2 planes with 2 engines each.... so when i was in the back yard i saw a white helicopter flying in the direction of the jets probably 30 seconds after i heard the loud noises flying really low....


now probably about 1 mile or so in the direction of the jets and helicopter is march airforce base which i thought they might land at but my cousin insists that the planes were going to fast to land

so after this incident i was hyped up and was watching outside and then flying in the same direction, pretty low, was a dark green/black helictoper...

ive probably seen a dark helicopter going towards and away the air force base 4 or 5 times since the 2 jets and helicopters...

the 2 engine planes strikes me as weird because the only jets i EVER see fly out of march are f-16s... single engined.... i showed my cousin some picks and he says the engines were round which would eliminate the f-22 and f-18 and he says it was definately a f-14... but there isnt any proof but i tend to believe him


any see this today or care to explane this?

Can you give us a general description of the planes you saw? How big compared to the helicopters, wing, body shape ect... March AFB is certainly long enough to accommodate all type of airplanes and it certainly hosts several different kinds as it has many users.

Today, March has many uses. The 452d Air Mobility Wing operates out of March, as does the Fourth Air Force. The base is also used by the California Air National Guard's 163d Reconnaissance Wing and Montana's 120th Fighter Wing. The California Department of Forestry uses the base at times as well. March is now home to 8 C-17 Globemaster III's, the first to belong strictly to the Air Force Reserve Command.

As you can see that gives us a very long list of planes to choose from. One thing is certain however, it was defiantly NOT an F-14. The F-14 is now retired from ALL service and it's last flight was on September 22nd 2006.

As for the helicopters you noticed, noting unusual there. It's just that sometimes when you see something interesting (and think it's unusual) you notice more stuff and so on...

Wouldnt have been and f-14,as westpoint said,they are retired. But it might have been an f-15. I live near Edwards AFB,and we get stuff like that all the time. Don't really notice it anymore.
