FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. — A wild hog weighing eleven-hundred pounds, bigger than the near-mythical "Hogzilla" caught in rural south Georgia a few years ago, has been been shot and killed in a suburban neighborhood.

(FoxNews)-The Department of Natural Resources did not know whether the hog, one of four tearing up yards in the neighborhood for years, was a record for the state. Coursey said the other three hogs may have been killed previously.

I live pretty close to Fayetteville (My dad lives there, and I visit often, it's only two cities away. Like 20 miles) and I haven't seen any reports of "Hogzilla", save the tabloids (Weekly World News). It's the only paper that even mentions it.

This is definately for real. The news article I read stated that it was thought to be one of 5 hogzillas that had been tearing up the yards of people in the area. I'm quite impressed that the thing lived as long as it did undetected.

This really goes to show you that you never know what is out there. Imagine the possibilities of that.

Go north from Atlanta, you get into some really dense mountain areas. No telling what's up there in NC and Tenn. Beautiful areas around there.

It's interesting to see the similarities between this actual article and a "hoax email" (actual picture, inaccurate information) that did its rounds back in 2004-'05. In the email the supposed "Hogzilla" was also from Georgia...

I was reading today a bulletin at my college about a young hunter who killed a 14' tal grizzly. In the last 72 hrs of it's life it had eaten two other hunters, one of which had unloaded a large caliber pistol clip at the bear, hitting it 4 times. His body wasn't found, but parts of him were in the digestive tract of the bear.

The guy said he was out hunting and the beast charged him from 50 yards. he unloaded 12 shots from a semi-automatic rifle into the thing, and it dropped to the ground near him. He had to fire 6 more shots into the head for it to die.

They had two pictures and good god, the thing was huge. It's head was about the size of the guy's torso, and it's paws almost as equally large. Standing on all fours, it would look an average adult male in the eyes, and on it's hind legs could look over the roof of an average 1 story home.

Right next to that, there was a missing snake with a picture. It was also increbibly sized. Looked like a boa or python, but colored like a rattlesnake. Not sure what it was, as the sign merely said "LOST SNAKE, if found call help"

Maybe they got a hold of the same stuff the TMNT did.
