Kind of hedging my bets, so to speak. This prediction was given to be by a close family member of mine. I don't quite believe it. But he had a series of very potent and lucid dreams of people suffering from a global epidemic.

I do not think this recent flu session has anything to do with it. I think it's either a freak resurgence of the same flu or something similar which spreads through the air.

Sadly, your prediction just may come true.

Nice to see you, ktprlaksdjfkaj.

Im one of those people who says the use of the word "flu" is used too lightly. Alot of people with common colds say they have the flu. BUT! For the first time in my life I may have had it. There are a couple other people I know who were really sick. Good thing im in my mid 20's, and not a adolescent child or elderly adult.

Im just getting over it. Im still messed up. My freeking skin hurt to the touch for a day or so. Nasty stuff.

Isnt there a higher mortality rate with the flu than the "SARS" epidemic?? Im not sure of that statement, but it should give someone a reason to look it up.

Oh well, if there is a mass epidemic of the flu on the scale I think you are talking about, we are all goners!

The flu has hit all 50 states at least sporadically, and the season has not yet peaked nationally!!!!

I think people get all hyped up about nothing. It's the flu, you get sick you get over it. The body recognizes the virus and destroys it, sure it takes a week or so but your body recovers. It's the same all the time, you get sick you get better. There's nothing bad about it. You're also immune to it for the rest of your life. Give it up people.

I think that some people watch entirely too much television.

I work in an ER and I just want to SCREAM at the people that come in to be seen because they've suffered from the "flu" for a few hours, and they've seen it on "tv" and they're afraid they're going to die.

There are well over 900 viruses that cause the common cold and the flu. Either you get a virus, and your body adapts and overcomes, or not...

Hmmm... Maybe the television moguls are in "cahoots" with the pharmacutical (sp?) companies? LOL!

Maybe it is as bad as we think and they really ARE out to get us? Heheheeee...

isn't SARS related to influenza? I'm pretty sure it is, and there were a lot of predictions about SARS making a comeback this winter. I wonder if there's a connection?

btw the rough (rough, I tell you) time frame I was given was like 6 or 8 months from october. That'd put us at april or june...

It is easy for some people to take the flu as some thing that one gets for a week and then is all better, unless you have been on the other end of having a child or love one in the hospital and the Dr.'s saying that they might not make it the night because of the flu. So for some it is easy to take lightly, and for others who have had to deal with the reality that some die from the flu not so easy to take lightly.

My question is this: Aren't there different types of the flu? Or sometimes the symptons are different?
