Idiots! I'm glad to see you hold those up so high who believe in God. Very open minded of you
I personally do believe that the bible is too full of fantasy.
I mean how many times has the world ended? How many times does it end in the Bible?
how many times has any of these predictions ever come true? Countless times, most of the old testament prophecies were fulfilled in the new testament, and new testament prophecies may be coming true as we speak. NEVER has a Bible prophecy been proven false

Other than the earth being flat, and the center of the earth? First, I'd like to know the verse that says the earth is flat. Second, the earth is the center of the earth?

Center of the Universe!
And what prohecies are coming true?

You will have to wait until I get home. I'm at work now, and don't have many resources here. This subject seems to upset you, though. Any reason why?

Well I already posted a half dozen scriptures citing an ummoving, fixed earth plane... which was the prevalent belief prior to understanding that the Earth actually revolves around the sun, rather than the other way around (making it not the 'center' of anything).

But I'll post more scientifically erroneous Biblical dogma if you like. Here's a synopsis of a small section from the book "Telling Lies for God", by Professor Ian Plimer, Professor of Geology at the University of Melbourne (Random House, 1994).

If the Bible is inerrant then the Earth was formed out of water (2 Peter 3:5), the Earth rests on pillars (I Sam. 2:8), the earth does not move, but stands still (I Chron. 16:30), the Earth has ends and edges (Job 37:3), the earth has four corners (Isa,. 11:12, Rev. 7:1).

The view that the Earth is fixed, immovable and non-rotating (Joshua 10:12; 1 Chronicles 16:30; Psalm 93:1; Psalm 96:10; Psalm 104:5) was used in the Holy Writ to convict Galileo of heresy.

In Daniel 4:10-11, Daniel 'saw a tree of great height at the centre of the Earth, reaching with its top to the sky, and visible on the Earth's farthest bounds'. This would only be possible if the Earth was flat. In the New Testament (Matthew 6:13), Satan took Jesus to the top of a mountain from where they could see all the kingdoms on Earth.

Some creationists actually believe the earth is flat, a powerful testament to their committment to dogma in the face of overwhelming evidence. This is in accordance with the Biblical view of the world. Other creationists don't believe the Earth is flat, and therefore literally interpret only parts of the Bible. "Such selective literalism traps creationists in their own dogma."

Our modern view of the world, based upon huge amounts of scientific evidence, is considerably more sophisticated. Nevertheless, our modern view will change as new evidence arises. The fixed literalist biblical view is obviously regarded as nonsense by the vast majority of people, which is why many Christians regard it as a mockery of the Bible and un-Christian.
[From cited book]

IMO, this is shooting fish in a barrel. Whether you use the Bible to support the Bible, or you use the Bible to refute the Bible... it's all rather silly on some level, isn't it? If you have a belief system that seems best supported and comforted by the parts of the bible you choose to cling to and acknowledge, more power to you... if you're a skeptic from the world of science, another's beliefs = no harm done. AS LONG AS THEY AREN'T EDUCATING YOUR CHILD, OR PASSING "MORALITY" LAWS!!!

Will do.
But say, can I have all your stuff now? Since you're leaving? Or should I just take it when you're gone? That is, of course, assuming the Rapture didn't happen when it took Jake and you're stuck with us heathens and Philistines.

I believe that something like JJ's aliens will indeed be a
candidate for the "Great Deception" of the end times.

For the record, the word "rapture" comes from the Latin
word "rapturo", which was a translation of the Greek verb "caught up" found in 1 Thes 4:17.
