hell, the words seem to have been coined in parody
like the word truthiness

yet, people for some reason take the term truthiness as nothing more than a joke

but the supposed insults towards white people aren't....

anyway, the origins of a word have a huge meaning
and there isn't anything degrading about the word honky to me
or cracka
i just find them humorous, as their origins meant
cracka = term coined to use humor to lighten the psychological burden of slavery
honky = humorous term used to lighten the load of oppression

however, the other words stand for a history of oppression and brutality...
so that's how i see them
as nothing more than bigotry

Racism is about "divide and conquer". In some countries where race is not really an issue, some other method of divide and conquer must be manufactured to keep people's eyes off their common enemy.
In Ireland, it's Protestants vs. Catholics. In the Middle East, it's Jew vs. Moslem, etc. In America, we have such a diverse selection of religions that only so much mileage can be had from driving that emotional powder keg around the block. Race, however, can be pumped well here in the ethnic "melting pot" of the world.
Ideology and philosophical differences are what really divide us, not color. Our concepts, traditions, et al are what constitute our "racial" makeup. Color is just an excuse.

I don't agree at all. If you call someone a name (any name) in a derogatory manner, it's rude and offensive. So for me personally, as long as "honky" and "cracker" are accepted, then "'n-word'" will always be a part of my vocabulary as well. It's just another name for black trash in my book. In fact, I can say it in a kind way also....."Oh, look at the adorably cute little 'n-word' babies." What's wrong with that?

The most descriminated person in The United Stated is the white, protestant male. As a person that doesn't see color, I am amazed at some of wittier racial slurrs, and find some of them pretty damn funny; especially the ones directed at my own race. Why someone can be small-minded enough to take offence to them is beyond me. Maybe it's an inferiority complex.

I don't disagree, but my point was that actions have many times the impact of words. If I call you some horrible thing, but then defend you from a violent attack by people who spoke well of you, who would you think was on your side? Words and actions are often at odds. And don't call me sorry!

Not sure if im coming from a different perspective here.... I am white and my wife is Black... we live in Britain and have experianced racism against us by white and black people.

I met my wife at work and our relationship soon grew... almost everybody in work excepted us and we had no problems except from 3 black women (who where our freinds until we told them we was in a relationship)

They approached my wife one day and asked her why she couldnt find herself a "nice black man" she was obviously offended by this and had a few choice word that she chucked at them (which i cant repeat in the forums hehe)

Then they started abusing me and we decided to go to the boss... i did wonder if the boss would do anything but he did us proud... the women no longer work for the company.

My wife was also called a niger by a white man once... he then got a perfect view of the sky with me standing above him haha



Anywho... to get to the point...

would we have been as offended if the girls didnt want us to be together because they simply didnt like me? Would i have punched the man lights out if he had called my wife a bitch...

The truth is no!

The reason for this is because it demonstrates a hatred towards someone, not because you do not like them, but because you do not like there whole race.

If somone simply doesnt like you because of a valid reason then fine... but dont hate me because of the colour of my skin... that is unexceptable.

The reason why, i believe, you cannot use words like 'n-word', honky, chink etc... even if there is no malice or ill intent is because hatred inevitably creeps in over time.

I dont even use the words "Blacks" or "Whites" i prefer to always put the word people on the end... It acts as a way to remind us that we are dealing with humans...

Black/white people sounds less harsh than blacks/whites - but that is just my opinion

Hmmm... not sure if im explaining myself very well... sorry...

I think what im trying to say is when you stop refering to people as individuals and only refering to them collectivly you generalise millions of people (which nobody has the right to do) Im sure most of us on these forums know there is good and bad in everyone...

Im sure in 1930s germany there was slang that was widely used to describe jewish people... maybe not with malice at first... but as problems started to arrise these words would have been used in more scathing, venomous and swepping statements. The words helped to cultivate the seeds of hatred that Hitler had planted. IT made the hatred easier because it dehumanised. And the same applies today.

Let use a hypothetical example...

When a white person comits a crime in a white comunity (that has racist tendencys) does the comunity say "Them honkeys are causing trouble again" ?

No! they would simply report the crime and maybe say "it was a white man" for no other reason then to describe his apperance... the people who this hypothetical crime is reported to would then simple show some concern and maybe say something like "thats terrible"

Unyet if a black man commits a crime in the same hypothetical comunity it would go something like this...

1st person

"Those 'n-word's are causing trouble again"

2nd person

Nods in agrement "yep... its a real problem"

Now the second example sounds more like someone talking about a rat infestation... they have dehumanised, not just the offender, but his whole race!

before you know it black people are no longer people... they are 'n-word's...



And for those of you who think that by not being allowed to use racist words is somehow an errosion of your rights.. concider the rights of the people who just want to walk down the street and be judged on there individual merit... Not labeled alongside 30 billion other people who you have never met but for some reason have an opinion of...

What a cop out! These are racist terms, just like the rest. They are not somehow better or less offensive because they are used against europeans. I'm utterly sick of people going off their nut about some of the other words but letting honky/cracka etc etc slide.

Somehow racism against whites doesn't count.

Yes racism is a scam. It's probable the largest scam in history.

It is a mechanism by which one can control indigenous immigrant resentment in check at the same time stifling legitimate debate.

It is the weapon by which sovereignty will be eroded to the point that we shall all succumb to a one world order, mono-cultural, mono-racial, zionists wet dream.

In Australia, people who want to stop Muslim immigration because their beliefs are incompatible with Western values are called racist by the loony left.

For a start, Islam is not a race, so it's not racism. Secondly, religion is a social construct so people have the CHOICE to adhere to it or not. I believe anything that people choose to be should be open to any form of debate.

On the other hand, people do not choose their race, age, sex, disability, sexuality, so these things should not be attacked.

I also believe the term "redneck" is a disgusting racial epithet that should be banned. Only white people, and white rural people - the most hard done by people in the US - can fit this description due to a sunburnt neck.

Plain and simple, racism is ignorance, and people make their own choices when it comes to remaining ignorant.

Ignorance exists within us all, too many people seem to have the belief, that once we've finished our school years we no longer need to educate ourselves.

I see on a daily basis masses of self-absorbed individuals spilling through the London streets, concerned only for themselves, all too many of them are teens and 20 somethings, eager to get to their next Bacardi Breezer or to download their next ringtone.

I may appear to be a little off topic, but it's my belief that it is this mindset
that is condemning the human race.

The one thing we are never really taught at school is to question ourselves and admit our wrongs.
