Tottenham: Naybet in new deal

Tottenham central defender Noureddine Naybet has agreed to stay at White Hart Lane for a further season.

Naybet, 35, said: "I've made up my mind to stay for another season. I am happy in London and do not want to change.

"The option of playing in Qatar has arisen several times but it never came to anything.

i'm surprised they kept him. He is what 35? A bit old and slow, he made a few costly mistakes last season if i remember rightly.. I guess he will be good for cover though..

yip. i thought the same, i think the thing with this guy is that he pretty cool on the ball, for a defender he has good technique and has experience.

Hes from Morocco too, and a well respected player from there, even if he dont play all the time i think Spurs hold an attracitve place for all the other players who come from there and around Africa cos Naybet is there.

They might be better off playing him in midfield on the odd occasions..
