Norwegian coach Trond Sollied claims he was close to joining Tottenham last summer.
Sollied, who is currently at Club Brugge, says Spurs were keen on recruiting him as their manager before appointing current incumbent Jacques Santini.
The 45-year-old revealed he is not even sure he would have accepted Tottenham's proposal, as he doubts their long-term ambitions.
"I understood it that they (Tottenham) only wanted me. Then in the twelfth hour they came up with Santini," said Sollied.
"Well, I must admit I was a bit flattered.
"But I'm not sure whether I would have said yes. I'm a bit unsure on the potential at Tottenham."
Sollied is now attracting interest from Rosenborg and he has held talks with the Norwegian giants.
