Manchester United will play the Hong Kong national side on July 23 as part of their Far East tour. The Red Devils, who are due to confirm a match in China tomorrow as part of their trip, are also expected to visit Japan as part of Sir Alex Ferguson's build-up to the 2005-6 campaign.

United have spent the past two summers in the United States, although even Ferguson admitted their most recent visit was a mistake as he was forced to rush senior players such as Paul Scholes and the Neville brothers back into action to appease supporters denied the opportunity of seeing many of the club's big names who had played in Euro 2004.

All the Old Trafford club's stars should be on show this time though and while Ferguson may not get the peace he enjoyed across the Atlantic, he knows his side is sure of a fanatic response.

'Our Hong Kong fans are some of the most dedicated in the whole world,' said United commercial director Andy Anson.

'It is tremendous that we are able to repay their loyalty by playing for them in Hong Kong.'

'You can be sure that we will bring our full squad of players to Hong Kong, subject to injury.'

I posted about the US tours the last two years and they was a huge success. They have already cracked the asian market a few years back, but that was with Beckham at the club. Still should be a money spinning tour for them..
