Florent Sinama-Pongolle has blasted reports that claimed he was to submit a transfer request to Liverpool.
The French forward has had limited opportunities this term as Rafa Benitez tries to cultivate a strike partnership of Milan Baros and Djibril
Cisse.
Although Sinama-Pongolle was brought to the club by former boss Gerard Houllier, he has no qualms about the need to impress his new manager.
"When I read I'd asked for a transfer, I thought 'no, no, no'," he told Liverpool's official website.
"This is wrong.
"I'm very upset about it because I didn't want the boss to think the wrong thing about me. But he knew it wasn't true because I hadn't said anything
about leaving.
"I'm feeling okay about my situation.
"I've been involved in some games but I have plenty of time on my side."
Sinama-Pongolle came on as a substitute during the comprehensive 2-0 victory over Charlton Athletic on Saturday and is tipped to start in the Carling
Cup tie with Millwall on Tuesday night.
