Good news as Jimmy Walker is poised to make his long-awaited return from a serious knee injury. After a grueling rehabilitation programme he is finally set for action and will turn out against Leicester reserves on Wednesday. And theres me thinking he wouldnt play this season and may have been finished...

Jimmy's another class goalkeeper but we now have 4 good goalies & reserves. Bywater, Shaka, Carrol & Jimmy. They would all make it to a 1st team spot if they played for lower clubs than us & I feel sorry for them not playing often. They're all good in different ways & I would trust any of them to defend the goal equally. I haven't seen any play bad games this season & I think the credit should go to the goalie coach Ludek for doin such a great job on them.

The problem as i see it is that... Shaka is only a stop gap as Walker was injured and Pardew doesnt like the look of Bywater... Shaka will most proberly go at the end of the season if Walker gets fully fit and recovers well, Bywater may move on aswell as he wont get in front of Carroll.. We have had a young Argentinian goalkeeper there on trial and i think he may bring in a new young keeper in the summer....
