Everton chairman Bill Kenwright has stated Chris Samuelson is close to buying a 29.9 percent stake in the club for 12.8 million.
The Geneva resident has informed the Toffees supremo that the money for the deal is in place and that the transaction should be completed within a
week.
Samuelson could invest a further 17.2 million in the Goodison Park outfit and take his potential holding to 50.1 percent.
Despite a successful start to the 2004/05 campaign, Kenwright has not been able to enjoy the year, following a power struggle with Paul Gregg, and is
keen to make the transaction.
