Everton have rejected a bid for Thomas Gravesen from the Dane's former club Hamburg.
The German outfit are looking to take advantage of the uncertainty surrounding Gravesen's future at Goodison Park.
The 28-year-old's contract expires next summer and the Toffees midfielder is not prepared to extend his deal until he sees obvious signs of improvement.
Though Gravesen is prepared to stay for now, a clutch of clubs are chasing his services including Atletico Madrid.
Hamburg have now made a firm attempt to bring Gravesen back to Die Bundesliga, four years after he quit the North German side for Everton.
But Hamburg's offer for the combative midfielder has been dismissed out of hand by Toffees manager David Moyes.
