Charlton Athletic: Charlton sign Bent

Charlton have completed the signing of Ipswich Town striker Darren Bent. The Addicks have snapped up the England Under-21 hit-man in a 2.5 million deal that could eventually rise to 3 million. Bent bagged 19 goals for Ipswich last term, but the club's inability to secure promotion ultimately cost them the chance to retain his services.

Well Bent should be a good signing, he has potential and was playign well for Ipswich. Whether he can do it at top level remains to be seen but Dean Ashton done it, why not him?

yer, that guy Ashton is doing the goods. i think with him though, hasnt he always been tipped for hte move up?

this guy Bent. hes fast right? and pace is handy to have. And he got a good scoring record.

Good signing but its not enough, they need some more quality signings. Bent will get goals but it might not be enough.

yip. i reckon it to be a good signing, knowing charlton they will sit aroud mid table yet again this season coming, but they do need to reinforce the team for that to hpapen.
