Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has spoken up for his Charlton counterpart Alan Curbishley.

On the eve of the league clash between two of The Premiership's best examples of clubs that have established themselves in the top flight on a shoestring budget, Allardyce is angered by criticism of Curbishley in some quarters.

The Trotters boss is fully aware of the precarious nature of the manager's job at the highest level.

They both have done great jobs, although i would have rather seen Big Sam do it with english players and not all the foriegners he has. I wonder if that rule was in now that limits teams to how many they have, would Bolton still be in the prem?

yip. charlton seem to be much more english players compared to Big Sams foriegn players.

and its good to see the praise, shows there is still sportsmanship in the game.

i dunno, bolton without them, i think the most importan signing they did was Djorkaeff, without him would they have got soo many good ones wanting to join like campo.

hes done good with kevin davies, and that guy hunt and nolan, thats all i can think off

welll. he saying am here to stay and improve this team

Alan Curbishley has moved to quell suggestions that he is considering his future at Charlton Athletic.

The Addicks boss cut a downbeat figure on Sunday after his side had been thrashed 4-0 by Manchester United at The Valley.

In his post-match interview, Curbishley admitted he felt let down by his players and hinted that he might contemplate his position in the capital.

It's been mentioned, if West Ham don't go up Pardew is gone and Curbs has stated that he feels he is getting stale at Charlton, good outside bet I'd say.
