Bolton manager Sam Allardyce is facing up to the stark reality of not getting in any of the four new faces he needs to turn the Trotters into a Premiership force.

Allardyce's legendary wheeling and dealing skills have seen him bring seven new faces to the Reebok Stadium this summer - five of whom were on show in the 1-0 friendly defeat to Inter Milan on Sunday.

But if Bolton are to have any chance of repeating their impressive eighth-place finish last term, Allardyce feels he needs more bodies. And he admits he is running out of options.

I don't think they are in danger of going down. But a force in the Prem? I don't think so. They have aquired some decent players but i can't see tham challenging for a top spot.

As i said they won't struggle but Alladyce has assembled a good side together and they seem to play well together. They could surprise a few and finish in the top ten.

Bolton seem to have got stronger over the last few seasons and a while back looked certain relegation material. I don't know how big Sam does it but whatever he is doing he needs to keep it up.

He made some good signings again and with some of the teams and how they are playing so far they should be looking at a top ten finish...

i think a top 10 is acheivable for them, i think they beat liverpool, drew with man utd, drew with arsenal for its looking good
