Aston Villa manager David O'Leary is demanding a considerable improvement from Gareth Barry after a disappointing start to the season.
"I was told in the year before I came here, when Villa nearly got relegated, that Gareth was outstanding for the team," said O'Leary of the 23-year-old.
"I don't think he performed to that level last season. There were just bits and pieces.
"He has been the same this season and we are expecting Gareth to do better."
