Jeremie Aliadiere may not figure for Arsenal this term after undergoing surgery on his knee injury.

The French striker picked up the injury when coming on as a second half substitute in Arsenal's Community Shield win over Manchester United in August.

Wenger was initially hopeful that his compatriot would only be out for a matter of weeks, but scans revealed serious damage to the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.

A specialist informed the club that the young striker would require surgery to correct the problem and Wenger has confirmed that the 21-year-old may not return this season.

He looked great in the games he started and it will be a big knockback on his career what with Henry and Reyes. Thing is it should be Bergkamps last season so he might get his chance when he is fit again.

Yeah Bently is out on loan....Thing is some of these players look real good playing for lower division sides. It will be interesting when he goes back if he gets in the team and see how he does.
