Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger today challenged his team to remain unbeaten for a second successive Premiership season

Wenger's team have not tasted defeat in the Premiership since May 2003 and today he admitted that the challenge to extend that record is one he is ready to accept.

He said: "We have only played one game, so it is very early, but we will try to do again what we did last season. Last year, we wanted to play good football, go forward all the time and score goals.

"We won't change this season, but how far can we go? I don't know, so we will have to wait and see. But it was good to see us perform so well without the likes of Patrick Vieira, Sol Campbell and Edu. Robert Pires was only on the bench as well, but the young players are now ready to be given a chance.

"It was a very good performance, however, and it was a good way to start the season."

talk about being optimistic lol

i cant see them doing it again to be honest, last season was a great achievment.

but for 2 seasons in a row, and i think due to going un beaten last season more peope/teams will be out to beat them

still, got to admire it and what he said

He is a brave man for sure. I think this season will be alot tougher to achieve that feat. Chelsea are alot stronger and some of the other teams have strenghtened there squad. So i would say no they won't do it again.
