Newcastle United: Valerenga eye Johnsen

Valerenga are eyeing a move for Newcastle United defender Ronny Johnsen.

With Jean-Alain Boumsong already arriving on Tyneside and Graeme Souness expected to strengthen his defence further during the transfer window, Johnsen is tipped to become surplus to requirements.

The former Manchester United man joined as a stop-gap capture when a free agent and Souness might not stand in his way if the right offer comes along.
