Burnley boss Steve Cotterill has taken advantage of his friendship with Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp to land youngster Richard Duffy on loan.
Cotterill is a close friend of the Redknapp family, and he has moved to secure Duffy on a temporary deal.
The former Swansea man was snapped up by Pompey last season for a nominal fee after impressing for the Welsh side.
Cotterill is already down to the bare bones of a squad, and an injury to John McGreal in Tuesday's Carling Cup victory over Wolves has left him even
shorter of first team players.
The 19-year-old is expected to go straight into the Burnley squad for their game against Stoke at Turf Moor on Saturday.
