Middlesbrough strikers Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Mark Viduka should both be set for a return to action this weekend when Steve McClaren's side face
Blackburn Rovers. Another forward, Joseph-Desire Job, scored for Cameroon against Sudan at the weekend to further boost the Teessiders.
"It was great to see Joseph had scored an important goal for his country," attacking coach Steve Round told the club's official website.
"That will do him the world of good. It's an honour for Joe and the club.
"He's an important part of the squad, so it was frustrating that he was injured at a time when we were also missing Jimmy and Mark.
"But he has got himself fit and would have returned to training with us last Monday had he not been called up by Cameroon.
"We're looking forward to seeing him back here later in the week when he'll be in contention to play a part in Saturday's game."
Hasslebaink has recovered from a head injury and hamstring problem while Viduka is returning to full fitness after struggling with back and hamstring
injuries.
"Mark continues his rehab from injury and we're hopeful he'll be ready for the game at Blackburn," Round added.
"Jimmy is already back in training and raring to go."
