Henrik Larsson is set to miss the rest of the season after having surgery on a torn knee ligament.

The Swede was stretchered off during Barcelona's 3-0 win over Real Madrid on Saturday evening.

this is a bad blow to barcelona. with etoo playing most matches up front and henrik being on the bench this could leave them short of forwards. although they have lots of attacking midfielders that will probally make up for it.

i wonder if they will now look to sign a striker aswell as a defensive midfielder in january

he started the season well in pre season. he was there top scorer in there friendly matches. and has done well when he played.

its a shame get got injured for them. i think its ruined his dream season at the neu camp

Thats a massive blow for them, i bet Celtic don't feel so bad in selling him now.

i think larsson for half this season would have been better than having camara for the whole season. he has got a temper and should have got sent of the other day and is ineffective in the bigger games. hes fast but apart from that he aint that good.

Henrik Larsson has insisted that he thinks the Swedish Player of the Year award is cursed.

Larsson won the Guldbollen earlier this month before damaging knee ligaments for Barcelona on Sunday.

The Swedish legend has won the award before and he again suffered injury just after that occasion.

with him getting injured and with him being 33. there was some views that he could retire but barcelona are supposed to be offering a new contract to him
